Hello Maine!

Every  year, it's the same upon arrival: Before we've even properly unloaded the car and changed into bathing suits, we scramble through the woods and down the craggy rocks to the beach. It's usually just before dusk, and even though we say it's "just to look at the ocean and take little a walk," the kids can't help themselves. After all that time in the car, the salt air is intoxicating, and well, we've waited all year for this vast expanse spread out before us. It's become a beloved ritual of mine: I grab the little hand reaching up and we storm into the waves fully dressed. With such purpose, such exhilaration. I love this moment. I live for this moment all winter long.
